11 December we entered the start-up competition for Travel Start-Ups at the EMERCE Start-Up competition 2008. We had 4 minutes to tell the audience and judges about Trip Essentials. To bad there was no Internet connection to give a demonstration how the service works. There were 7 start-ups competing for the #1 position. After the extraordinary feedback we received at LeWeb’08 from companies like Google, British Telecom, Result and Microsoft we started the 4-minute pitch with full confidence and enthusiasm. Luckily we prepared some slides with screens shots and showed the unique design and functionalities.

The feedback from the judges as well from the audience was great! We scored the highest points on Innovation and Usability/ Design. We ‘lost’ on marketing, but there was not enough time to explain what our marketing plan is. We have a marketing roadmap that defines our strategy.

Most important for us are the users and how they use our service and that want to contribute to change the world and make it a better place through our service.
